High Necks & High Temps.

Hey There,

I hope your week is off to a good start! I had class today and then was off to my internship and now I am about to watch some good ol’ baseball.

Anyways, I was needed a couple more dresses to wear to my internship and I wanted to be able to dress them up and dress them down, so I went with a simple grey high- neck, swing dress. I paired it with my silver bling sandals from Target, some earrings from Nickel and Suede and my favorite black Ray-Bans from Ditto.[see side note]

My make-up consisted of a smoky eye done with the Naked pallet that was primed with Urban Decay’s eyeshadow primer, my mascara was Too Faced Better Than Sex, and my foundation was Covergirl (see previous blog for review). Pretty simple, which is it what I need for my busy days.

[side note]: Nickel and Suede is an awesome company who have been online, but just opened up their first store in my town. The earrings they have to offer are light-weight and extremely trendy. In addition to earrings they have some great leather bracelets that would go great in a stack with a boyfriend style watch. I can’t wait to see what earring is selected as July’s earring of the month.

Chalking Up Chacos

Happy HUMP day!

So fingers crossed spring is fully upon us and there will be no more super cold days. With that being said, I am itching to buy new spring clothes and break out the old ones. I did a project in my business class last spring on Chacos and I wore my roommates a couple times to see how I liked them, and I thought they were great!! I could just slip them on and they were extremely comfy,  but, me being me, I could not reason my way into dropping a little over a hundred dollars on a pair of sandals so I just kinda pushed that to the back burner. Well, with summer quickly approaching again, I started searching to see if I could find some summer sandals that I could always wear…and Chacos popped up. I then took to Amazon and found a pair for just under $70 with free shipping so I took the plunge. Granted, I still think this is pretty pricey for a pair of shoes that are not running shoes, but I did it anyways because I know that I will more than likely wear them every day to class this summer.

When I got mine in the mail just a few days after ordering them, I was super excited to wear them and I haven’t really taken them off since. The straps are adjusted to my feet and the sole seems to be better fitted to my foot after the couple days.  So I will conclude with, I am happy that I did take the plunge because I know I can wear these sandals just about anywhere (shopping, class, exploring, eat.) and I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for a good summer shoe!

XOXO,

5 February Favorites

Hey There!

This past couple weeks have had me in such a good mood because the weather has been absolutely phenomenal. I have been able to wear shorts and have my windows open…in the middle of winter in the midwest. However, I think the change in weather is what is responsible for me getting a cold this past week. Now I am just left with a pesky cough and a stuffy nose. Regardless though, I will take that for some good weather and a chance to get my Vitamin D.

It is nearly the end of February (which is absolutely crazy!) so I thought I would just share a few favorites from this month.

  1. Bite Matte Creme Lip Crayon- color Cafe

I have been absolutely obsessed with Bite lip crayons since Christmas when my little sister spoiled me and got me the gift set of 4. I can apply the color early in the morning drink coffee/tea all morning and it will still be in place and radiant well into the afternoon. Cafe has definitely my most used this month because it is an everyday shade and it really adds to normal make-up. I highly suggest heading to Sephora to play around with all of the colors.

2. Yogi Cinnamon Vanilla Tea

I love love love tea and coffee just like many other college students who are trying to survive. I am usually just a green tea and lemon kind of gal, but when I had to cut caffeine out I was looking for something to satisfy my sweet tooth in place of my usual caramel macchiato. I also am a huge fan of Yogi because each of the tea bags have a cute, motivational message at the end.

3. Essie- For the Twill of Things

Okay, so I bought this color last year as part of the winter collection I believe and I absolutely love it. It is not just one color, but rather is more of a color that has multiple colors. As much as I love dark colors I am ready for summer so I can wear my white nail polish again.Screen Shot 2016-02-29 at 7.55.21 AM.png

4. Favorite Song At The Moment- Talk by Tori Kelly and Pillowtalk by Zayn

Go give them a listen. They are very different, but I like ’em.

 LISTEN!!

5. Favorite Quote of The Moment- “You can do anything, but not everything”

I am definitely one who has a hard time saying no and I want to help out as many people as possible, but I have a pretty rough schedule. The month was the first time I actually had to quit something because I was just too overwhelmed and I was not getting anything out of it. I felt absolutely terrible and I felt like I was letting them down, but everyone understood and I am must happier now.

Let’s all have a kick butt week and start March off right!

e.l.f. in the Spirit of Christmas

Hey there!

I hope you are having a wonderful day and are channeling your inner child in honor of the Christmas season!

I, like any other girl, can rarely walk into Target and leave with only the things she originally planned on getting. I can wander around Target for hours and find things that I think I absolutely “need”. Anyways, I purchase most of my make-up from drug stores or target because until recently I have not been one to wear make-up faithfully enough to warrant dropping lots of money. As I was wondering up and down the make-up aisles I noticed e.l.f. had lots of different products and brushes. I decided to grab their light blush palate and their blush brush to try out. There are four different shades of blush in this particular palate.
IMG_6935One, is a more brown or tan for initial definition there are three more varying pink shades.
IMG_6937I have not really found myself using the top left shade (the lightest pink) yet, but that could change when it is spring time again. For my my make up routine I start with the tan, then I layer the bottom left, followed by the bottom right and then I blend it out. Doing this I have found it gives me the best color and the definition I am looking for.

The coverage lasts for a long time and I am one who tends to touch my face a lot and I have not had to reapply it through out the day! For 6 bucks I   suggest that you definitely try this product out or it would make a perfect stocking stuffer for someone!
